Obedience Is better than Sacrifice.

A very well known term.

I am certain many of us have heard this term being used in one way or another.
I never disagreed with it, it just hadn't become real to me, and I never fully understood it, until recently. I was able to live it, and comprehend it. I'm thankful for the opportunity to have done so. It's been of great blessing to my life. YES, I am aware things could have been different, and perhaps my comprehension of this could have come out of a more positive situation. You see, God gave us our own will, and at times we tend to use it to our own advantage. We become stubborn because of our own selfish needs or better yet, not needs, things that we want!! We justify things and don't make them important to us, because again, we are selfish! This is where I found myself.

I was stubborn. In my heart I knew I was wrong for disobeying, but all I found myself doing was justifying my disobedience. I would pride in my good doings, my faithfulness, my concern and kindness towards others (my "sacrifices".) I felt my actions were justified by doing good things and giving up others, all for God. As if all that was an atonement for what I was doing. When in reality everything I had given up belonged to God in the first place, everything I had done was only because God allowed me to do so. My disobedience quickly caught up to me, I could no longer do what I was passionate about. It was until then, that I came to the realization of my stubbornness and selfishness. It was until then, That I was able to understand why "Obedience was better than Sacrifice" with Gods mercy and grace I am once again able to do what I am so passionate about."Thank YOU Jesus!!"

Many of us don't like the word obedience because it defines submission, Something many of us find hard to do.
You see, We can sacrifice all we want BUT if we don't obey it's all in vain.
Jesus sacrificed his life for us BUT had he not been OBEDIENT to do so, we wouldn't have salvation!

I will end with this.....
Take a minute to think to yourself,
Are you truly obeying Gods word, and those God has set above you to guide & direct you!? OR, are you justifying them for your own selfish "wants".
Are you making your're sacrifices a way of atonement for your sins!?

I encourage you all to make a little more effort to be obedient (something not so easy to do).
I guarantee it will be of a blessing! Don't do because of what you will get out of it. Do it because you Love GOD! :)
